Monday Aug 24, 2020
Monday Aug 24, 2020
Greetings All,
Part one of DC Fandome was this past weekend, and it was full of exciting moments, showcasing what we can expect from DC in the world of movies, television, and video games. Unlike comic-book conventions past, this was an all-virtual event, completely free to the public, and available to view on the DC Fandome website from any browser. In this "rapid-fire" episode, we discuss all our favorite moments, who we were most excited to hear from in the panels, and what we expect to see from DC/Warner Bros. in the future.

Monday Aug 24, 2020
Monday Aug 24, 2020
Hello Everyone!
August has been quite the month for film anniversaries. In this episode we celebrate one of Jay's favorite movies, Paul Anderson's Mortal Kombat. Released in 1995 and based on the popular video game franchise, Mortal Kombat stars Christopher Lambert, along with then-newcomers Robin Shou, Linden Ashby, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. As an MK super-fan, Jay takes us through the complete production history of the film, including which big names were originally cast in the roles of Sonja, Liu Kang, and Johnny Cage. Later, we discuss its sequel, the TV series, and the upcoming 2021 reboot starring Lewis Tan.

Greetings Everyone,
This week, we revisit the nerd-culture cult classic Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary. Released on August 13, 2010, Edgar Wright's adaptation of the now legendary graphic novel series combined elements of video games, anime, manga, martial arts, and late 2000s hipsterism in a way that hadn't been seen before. The film's then-unknown cast now reads like a "who's who" of Hollywood A-listers, including Michael Cera, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, and many others. Tune in, as we talk about some of our favorite movie moments and reveal some fun behind-the-scenes trivia.

July 20, 2020 - (Giant-Size) X-Men 20th Anniversary Special
Tuesday Jul 21, 2020
Tuesday Jul 21, 2020
Greetings Everyone!
This week, we decided to do a special one-hour episode, in honor of what is arguably the most important comic-book movie of all time, Bryan Singer's X-Men. Released in July of 2000, X-Men not only sparked the dawn of a new era in genre film, but also introduced the world to Hugh Jackman, a then-unknown actor, who would go on to thrill audiences as Wolverine for nearly two decades. We'll discuss lots of fun and interesting facts about the making of this classic, including who was originally considered for the roles of Storm and Wolverine, our rankings of all 12 X-Men films, and who we'd like to see cast as Wolverine, Professor Xavier and Magneto in the upcoming MCU reboot. You won't wanna miss this one!

Greetings Everyone!
In this week's episode, we review the film Guns Akimbo, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Samara Weaving. How did this one slip past us? Next, we reflect on the passing of legendary film composer Ennio Morricone, who composed more than 500 film scores in his six decade career. Later, we talk about Matt Reeves' new spinoff series Gotham P.D. and its new home at HBO Max. Does the creation of this show indicate the dawn of a second DCEU? Lastly, Jay can barely contain his excitement as we speculate on the upcoming new season of Amazon Prime's hit show The Boys. You won't wanna miss it!

In this episode we discuss Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali's upcoming role as boxing legend Jack Johnson for new six-part HBO miniseries. Then, it's back into more behind-the scenes drama, as Ray Fisher slams Joss Whedon for his on-set behavior during the making of Justice League. Later, we talk about the Harley Quinn TV series moving to HBO Max. Does this spell the end for the DC Universe app? We also get Marq's take on the Will Smith/Martin Lawrence hit movie Bad Boys For Life. You won't wanna miss it!
